The Port Clements Historical Society requested community grant funding ahead of the village’s May 19 council meeting, warning the local museum and visitor information centre may not be able to continue operating without support. According to the application, the museum operates seasonally from May through September and helps provide tourism information and local history programming for visitors and residents. Financial documents included in the agenda package showed the society operating at a loss in 2025. Council’s decision on the funding request was not available by press time.
